BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (AP) - A ribbon cutting has been held at a facility designed to enhance Michigan’s protection of computer systems and sensitive data.
Gov. Rick Snyder spoke at Tuesday’s ceremony for the 110th Airlift Wing Michigan Cyber Range Hub at Battle Creek’s W.K. Kellogg Airport.
The Cyber Range was started in 2012 to help electronic security professionals detect and prevent cyber threats and attacks. It is part of Snyder’s cyber initiative that was launched in 2011.
WOOD-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1hWgC2F ) that the Battle Creek facility will house cybersecurity training and classes for the Michigan Air National Guard.
The 110th Communications Flight in Battle Creek is one of five cyber mission flights across the nation.
