PHILADELPHIA (AP) - An early spring storm expected to bring substantial snow to parts of the northeastern United States left only a dusting in much of eastern Pennsylvania.

The National Weather Service reports an inch of snow Wednesday in Montgomery County and less than an inch in Allentown in Lehigh county.

Forecasters say only half an inch was reported in Delaware County, while Philadelphia International Airport got even less than that and smaller amounts were recorded elsewhere.

The storm brought near-whiteout conditions to Cape Cod, with surrounding areas expected to get as much as 10 inches of snow.

Maine Gov. Paul LePage ordered state offices in Washington and Hancock counties closed. Forecasters say snowfall in Washington County could reach 20 inches.
