WHEATON, Ill. (AP) - A Bellwood man has pleaded guilty in connection with the shooting death of a convenience store clerk in the Chicago suburbs.

DuPage County prosecutors said Thursday that 20-year-old Kenneth Bardlett pleaded guilty to aggravated battery with a firearm. Prosecutors say as part of a plea agreement Bardlett will be required to testify against co-defendents in the January slaying of Hussein Saghir in Bensenville.

Officials say the 36-year-old Saghir was leaving work when he was confronted by two men. Police say one of the men pulled out a handgun and fatally shot Saghir. Both men then got into a car and fled.

Two other men are charged in the case.
