BATAVIA, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a security guard for a western New York community college has been charged with stealing underwear and swimsuits at a student apartment complex.

State police say they started an investigation after receiving information from Immigration and Customs Enforcement regarding possible burglarizes that occurred at Genesee Community College’s Village Apartment Complex in the Town of Batavia.

Troopers say that 28-year-old Matthew Lenhard of Corfu, a security guard at the complex, entered at least six apartments to steal undergarments and swimsuits. Several of the garments were recovered at his home.

Lenhard has been charged with burglary and criminal possession of stolen property. He was released after being arraigned.

It couldn’t immediately be determined if Lenhard has a lawyer.
