MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, Ohio (AP) - A county coroner says a 65-year-old man who was shot by sheriff deputies in suburban Cleveland died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Authorities have yet to release details of what happened when Cuyahoga (KY-uh-HOH’-guh) County sheriff’s deputies confronted Israel Rondon on the porch of his house in Middleburg Heights on Tuesday.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation said two deputies fired at Condon after they went to his home to serve a warrant. Authorities haven’t said whether Condon had a gun or if he fired at deputies.

Rondon was wanted for an alleged probation violation for assault on a police officer and carrying a concealed weapon.

The coroner’s office said late Wednesday said Condon died from a gunshot to the head.
