DENVER (AP) - A parolee accidentally released from the Jefferson County jail this week is back behind bars.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says 41-year-old Damon Elliot Slayton was arrested Thursday near downtown Denver.
The office says “human error” is to blame for Slayton’s accidental release on Tuesday and that steps have been taken to verify inmate releases.
Slayton’s criminal record includes theft, burglary and robbery. He was being held on a parole violation when he was released.
