UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) - A Long Island man has been arrested and charged with slashing another man with a knife outside a bar.

Nassau County police say Kahlil Perotte got involved in an argument with a 33-year-old he knew at the Classico Bar in Uniondale on Feb. 7.

After Perotte was asked to leave the bar, the two men continued their dispute outside.

Police say Perotte pulled out a knife and slashed the victim across his arm and the side of his head before fleeing.

They say Perotte surrendered to police on Thursday. He faces charges of assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

It wasn’t immediately clear if he had a lawyer.

The victim required 60 stitches to close his wounds.
