BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A Jefferson Parish man was indicted Thursday in the November 2013 shooting death of a Baton Rouge man whose body was found in a canal.

The Advocate reports (https://bit.ly/1jAquVl ) 34-year-old Corey Joseph Pittman was charged in Baton Rouge with second-degree murder in the killing of 35-year-old Kenneth Barton.

Investigators say they believe Pittman broke into a house on Cedar Avenue in Baton Rouge and shot Barton during an armed robbery. Barton was found dead later in a nearby canal.

It was not immediately clear whether Pittman has an attorney.
