LAUREL, Miss. (AP) - A Jones County judge has declared a mistrial after a jury failed to reach a verdict in the case of a shooting and robbing outside of Laurel’s Wal-Mart.

Jury deliberations came Wednesday in the trial of Sean Land of Waynesboro. After 3 1/2 hours of deliberation, the jury reported itself deadlocked.

Land is accused of shooting and robbing a customer in the parking lot last May.

Authorities say one man was injured in the incident during which several shots were reportedly fired.

District Attorney Anthony Buckley tells WDAM-TV (https://bit.ly/P86dsh ) that no decision has been made on when Smith will be tried again.

Also arrested was Sederic Miles of Waynesboro. Authorities also charged Miles with aggravated assault and attempted armed robbery. Miles is awaiting trial.
