MOLINE, Ill. (AP) - Authorities have arrested a passenger trying to pass through security with a loaded handgun in his carry-on luggage at Quad City International Airport in western Illinois.

The Transportation Security Administration announced Friday that one of its officers discovered the .380-caliber Walther PK handgun at a security checkpoint X-ray machine.

The Quad-City Times reports (https://bit.ly/1rKYa3T ) that the gun was loaded with six rounds and one in the chamber. The passenger, who had a ticket to fly to Atlanta, was arrested.

The incident took place Thursday.

The name of the passenger was not immediately released.
