RENO, Nev. (AP) - Reno police are searching for the motorist involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident on Thursday night.

Investigators say the suspect fled in a dark-colored pickup truck after striking a 50-year-old female pedestrian on Mae Anne Avenue in northwest Reno.

The woman, who was not in a marked crosswalk at the time, was found unresponsive in the roadway. Efforts by emergency personnel to revive her failed, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim’s name was withheld pending notification of family members.

Secret Witness is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and prosecution in the case.

The 8 p.m. accident is under investigation.
