CHESTERFIELD, Mo. (AP) - Police in the St. Louis suburb of Chesterfield are searching for two women after a shoplifting suspect used pepper spray on a mall security guard, then forced a motorist to drive her away.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1gxqnqt ) reports that police are investigating the March 21 crime at Chesterfield Mall as an armed robbery and kidnapping.

Police say two women entered the H&M; store, put merchandise in bags and tried to leave. When a security guard approached, one of the women used pepper spray on the guard.

The women split up and ran away. One went to the parking lot, jumped in the passenger seat of a car and forced a woman to drive away from the mall.

Police have a 22-year-old suspect in mind but won’t say why.
