JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - Southeast Alaska communities are among the state’s healthiest.

KTOO reports (https://is.gd/fPtPvy) that’s the findings of the annual County Health Rankings and Roadmaps, conducted by the University of Wisconsin.

The survey puts Juneau at the top of the list of healthy communities in Alaska, and Sitka was second.

Juneau ranked high in critical care and healthy behavior. For example, only 18 percent of the residents smoke.

The Fairbanks North Star Borough topped the list for longevity in Alaska, followed by the Southeast Fairbanks Census Area and then Juneau.
