SCHODACK, N.Y. (AP) - State police says the westbound stretch of the Thruway’s Berskshire section in eastern New York has reopened after being shut down by a truck fire.

Troopers say a tractor-trailer caught fire shortly after 9 a.m. Friday in the westbound lanes of Interstate 90’s Berkshire Connector in the Rensselaer County town of Schodack (SKOH’-dak), just south of Albany.

Police say the truck was fully involved in flames when troopers arrived on the scene. Troopers say no one was injured.

Troopers say a three-mile stretch of the Berkshire spur’s westbound lanes was closed between Exit 21A on Interstate 87 and I-90’s Exit B1.

Both lanes were reopened by 12:30 p. m.

The scene of the fire was about 20 miles east of where the Thruway’s Berkshire spur connects with the Massachusetts Turnpike.
