VERONA, N.Y. (AP) - A 22-year-old upstate New York man is awaiting a court appearance after being arrested twice for drugs over the weekend on the New York State Thruway.

Demmeco Scott of Syracuse was pulled over Sunday in the Town of Verona after being spotted driving erratically on the four-lane highway. Scott had a blood alcohol content of .12 percent and troopers also found a small amount of marijuana in the vehicle.

Scott was charged with DWI, unlawful possession of marijuana, and several traffic violations and released to a family member.

Scott also was arrested Friday on the Thruway in the Town of DeWitt during another traffic stop and found in possession of marijuana and Tramadol hydrochloride, a controlled substance painkiller.

He’s due to appear in DeWitt Town Court on Tuesday night.
