BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - State police say a 28-year-old Denham Springs woman got out of her car after a crash and was killed when another vehicle hit her parked car, knocking it into her.

Trooper Jared Sandifer says Kristina A. Delaney was looking back into her car for her cellphone when her car was struck by an SUV around 11 p.m. Thursday on Airline Highway in East Baton Rouge Parish.

Sandifer said Delaney had parked the car in the roadway and turned it off.

The first accident occurred when Delaney, attempting to pull out of a private driveway and was hit by a southbound car, knocking it into the median.

Sandifer says Delaney died at the scene. The drivers of the other 2 vehicles were not injured.
