WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) - The number of hotel rooms is soaring in Williston along with increased oil production.

Williston Convention and Visitor’s Bureau director Amy Krueger tells the KXMC-TV (https://bit.ly/1lucHje ) that the growth in the economy has meant a big demand for additional hotels.

Krueger says there were seven hotels and 607 rooms in the city in 2010.

She says the number of hotels and rooms have more than tripled since then. She says the increase in the number of available rooms have caused rates to drop some.
