KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (AP) - Oregon State Police arrested a Klamath Falls man accused of making counterfeit money.

Lt. Gregg Hastings says 36-year-old Vernon Schaeffer was forging fake currency when investigators arrested him in a motel room Friday.

Hastings says police seized phony $20, $50 and $100 bills as well as paper, a color copier, methamphetamine and other evidence.

Schaeffer was booked into jail on charges of forgery, meth possession and criminal possession of a forged instrument.

The investigation started earlier this month after the arrest of a woman who had counterfeit cash.
