SALEM, Ore. (AP) - A Pendleton psychiatric facility is closing Monday.

Built in the 1940s, the Blue Mountain Recovery Center was originally the admission and treatment building of the former Eastern Oregon State Hospital.

Most recently, the two-story hospital that’s next to a prison has provided care for up to 60 patients who had been committed to the Oregon Health Authority for treatment.

The state says the last patients have been transferred to Oregon State Hospital campuses in Portland and Salem.

Construction of a new psychiatric hospital in Junction City is scheduled to open next spring.

The Oregon State Hospital will take the archived medical records of former patients of the Blue Mountain Recovery Center, Eastern Oregon Psychiatric Center and Eastern Oregon State Hospital.
