ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Annapolis police say two people were arrested after several bags of suspected marijuana were found in a car during a traffic stop.

Officers stopped a car they say failed to stop at a stop sign about 7:35 p.m. Sunday. Police say officers smelled marijuana as they approached the vehicle.

The Capital of Annapolis reports (https://bit.ly/1jN6BqP) that authorities say a search of the car turned up suspected marijuana and a loaded pistol in one of the car’s doors, and more suspected marijuana in the trunk.

Thirty-eight Paul Born of Lothian and 29-year-old Jennifer Palmer of Elkridge were charged with gun and drug offenses.
