MINERSVILLE, Pa. (AP) - Two miners have been rescued after part of a roof at an eastern Pennsylvania coal mine fell on them.

WNEP-TV (https://bit.ly/1fDbELe) said it happened Monday morning at the D and F Mine, just outside of Minersville in Schuylkill County.

State officials said the roof of the coal mine collapsed, trapping two miners before they were rescued by their fellow workers.

The injured men were taken to waiting medical helicopters. Officials say their injuries are not belied to be life-threatening.

Federal and state inspectors are investigating.
