WASECA, Minn. (AP) - The body of a fallen Marine from Minnesota is being returned to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware.

The U.S. Department of Defense Monday said 20-year-old Lance Cpl. Caleb Erickson died Feb. 28 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. The military says the return of Erickson’s body to the Air Force base has been delayed until Tuesday due to bad weather on the East Coast.

His family says Erickson was the gunner in the last truck of the convoy when it was attacked Friday. He was a 2012 graduate of Waseca High School. Erickson’s unit was based at Camp Lejeune, N.C.
