MILLERSVILLE, Pa. (AP) - A 6-year-old boy is hospitalized after being struck by a school bus in central Pennsylvania.

The accident happened Monday morning in the parking lot of Penn Manor High School in Millersville, Lancaster County.

The boy, who is a private school student, was switching buses at the high school when he was hit.

Police Officer Jason Hottenstein said the boy was hospitalized for what appeared to be a leg injury. His injuries weren’t believed to be life-threatening.

School officials said the accident wasn’t weather related. Hottenstein said it appears the boy was in the bus driver’s blind spot when he was struck.

Investigators are checking surveillance video from the parking lot to see exactly what happened. The names of the bus driver and the boy weren’t immediately released.
