BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Birmingham police say a woman was seriously injured after being shot in the face while in a car on Interstate 59.

Al.com reports (https://bit.ly/1hGjYbF ) that police suspect the shooting early Monday was tied to an argument between two groups at Club Foxx Trapp. Lt. Sean Edwards, a Birmingham police spokesman, says one of the groups left the club in a car that was traveling northbound on I-59 when a gunshot shattered the rear windshield.

The bullet struck 25-year-old Dominique Hall Black in the face. Edwards says she was rushed to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and was reported as stable later Monday morning.

No arrests have been reported in the shooting.
