CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - A three-judge panel will hear a petition by a group of Pratt residents seeking the removal of the town’s mayor.

Fayette County Circuit Judge John Hatcher, Nicholas County Circuit Judge Gary Johnson and Marion County Circuit Judge Michael Aloi will convene April 24 to hear the case. They were appointed by West Virginia Supreme Court Chief Justice Robin Jean Davis.

The Charleston Gazette (https://bit.ly/1hFlJWu ) reports that the petition seeking Mayor Gary Fields‘ removal was filed last week in Kanawha County Circuit Court.

Fields declined to comment on the petition.

He pleaded guilty in February to illegally possessing prescription drugs. He will be on probation for sixth months. If he’s not arrested for another six months after that, he can ask to have the conviction removed from his record.
