TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Senior Aimee Creger struck out 17 in a one-hitter, and sophomore Caitlin Sill and junior Bailey Erwin combined for a game two shutout as the 17th-ranked Tulsa softball team defeated UTEP twice by equal 6-0 scores.

The Golden Hurricane used big innings in each of Saturday’s games to deliver the knockout blow on offense. TU put up six runs in the first inning of game one, and scored five runs in the fifth inning of game two.

Creger matched her career high with 17 strikeouts in game one, and walked none to improve to 14-1 on the season. UTEP’s lone single in the sixth inning was their first off of Creger in 11 innings, dating back to her five-inning no-hitter of the Miners in April 2013.
