GARDINER, Mont. (AP) - Park County authorities say a Gardiner man fatally shot a woman he knew before shooting himself with the same handgun.
Undersheriff Scott Hamilton says 63-year-old Steve A. Cole shot 59-year-old Debi J. Roberts twice Thursday afternoon before killing himself with a shot to the head.
The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports (https://bit.ly/1kj3c2a ) that Hamilton described autopsy reports Monday in the murder-suicide.

The sheriff’s office says Cole and Roberts were in a relationship several years ago. Roberts called emergency officials Thursday and said Cole was trying to break into her home and had already shot at her.
Sheriff’s deputies and Yellowstone National Park rangers found Cole dead at the home and Roberts in critical condition. She later died at the scene.
