RUTHER GLEN, Va. (AP) - Electric linemen rodeos scheduled next month in Caroline County are expected to draw more than 120 competitors from Virginia and other states.

The 12th Annual Terex Equipment Operator’s Rodeo is set for April 4 at the Caroline County Agricultural Fairgrounds near Ruther Glen. The Gaff-n-Go Lineman’s Rodeo will be held the next day at the fairgrounds.

The rodeos will be hosted by the Virginia, Maryland and Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives. Association executive vice president Richard Johnstone says in a news release that the two-day competition celebrates the skills of line crews who work in all types of conditions.

Competitions include maneuvering bucket trucks and completing tasks on utility poles.

Both events are open to the public.
