CUMBERLAND, R.I. (AP) - Cumberland police are still sorting through the details of what happened during a nightclub melee over the weekend that ended with two arrests and several people being brought to the hospital.

Officers were called to the Lusitania Club on Chase Street at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday on reports of fighting. Three ambulances responded to the club and medics brought at least four people to the hospital. Their conditions haven’t been disclosed.

Authorities arrested two people, but haven’t released their names or the charges.

It’s not clear what sparked the fighting.

The Lusitania Club’s website says it’s a nonprofit cultural and recreational club for the Portuguese community.
