SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A 21-year-old woman accused of fleeing the scene after crashing into a stroller and killing the child inside in West Valley City has been ordered to spend 88 days in jail.

Kimberly Munoz was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty to one felony count of causing an accident involving property damage. She originally faced charges including hit-and-run causing death.

She will get credit for 58 days she’s already served.

Authorities say Angela Barnett was crossing a poorly lit street outside a crosswalk with her children on June 10 when a car hit the stroller and 2-year-old Gavyn Barnett was thrown out. He later died.

Police say family members of Munoz’s ex-boyfriend led officers to Munoz, who admitted to the crash.

Munoz’s attorney has said the stroller was unavoidable.
