DRUMMOND ISLAND, Mich. (AP) - A woman’s body has been found in the debris of an exploded and burned home in Michigan’s eastern Upper Peninsula.

State police in Sault Ste. Marie say residents on Drummond Island in Lake Huron heard and felt a loud explosion about 9 a.m. Monday.

Smoke was seen a short time later and firefighters arrived to find a house destroyed by the blast.

Firefighters found the woman’s body after the blaze was extinguished.

The cause of the explosion and fire are under investigation.
