BROOKSVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Two men have been sentenced to life in prison, and a third has been sentenced to 30 years for a fatal Tampa Bay area home invasion.

A Hernando County judge gave 27-year-old Richard Denard Harris and 23-year-old Nicholas Trammell life sentences on Monday, while 26-year-old Robert Willoughby received the relatively lighter sentence. All three previously pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and two other charges.

Authorities say Trammell, Harris and Willoughby entered Michael Pfeifer’s Masaryktown home one night in August 2011 and demanded money and drugs. Pfeifer was shot in the knees and died before rescuers arrived.

Prosecutors say Trammell carried a 12-gauge shotgun, and Harris had an AK-47. Both were used to shoot Pfeifer. Willoughby reportedly carried a handgun but didn’t fire.
