MIAMI (AP) - Police say a fisherman found three Cuban migrants whose boat had broken down or ran out of gas near Miami.

The fisherman reportedly picked the migrants up Tuesday at about 5 a.m.

City of Miami Police Officer Frederica Burden says a park manager at Virginia Key saw one of the men come ashore. He is in his 70s and was taken in by Customs and Border Protection.

The location of the other two is unknown.

Cubans who make it to shore in the U.S. are generally allowed to stay under the “Wet-foot, Dry-foot” policy, while those stopped at sea are usually returned home.
