HOUSTON (AP) - A Mexican man has been extradited to Texas on a charge of killing his 10-year-old cousin when her family tried to kick him out of their home in 2004.

Harris County jail records show 26-year-old Francisco Guzman was being held without bond Tuesday on a capital murder charge. Jail records don’t list an attorney for Guzman, who was arrested in 2011 in Mexico City. He was booked Friday in Houston and faces a court hearing next week.

U.S. Marshals Service spokesman Art Fernandez on Tuesday said relatives welcomed Guzman until he allegedly stole from them and used drugs. Guzman was 17 years old in November 2004 when a female relative and her four daughters were ambushed and stabbed at their residence.

Fernandez says the youngest cousin, Ruffina (roo-FEE’-nuh) Rodriguez, died.
