WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) - The mother of one of two slain Iowa cousins has been returned to custody to await trial on drug charges.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier says (https://bit.ly/OX6QFB ) 37-year-old Misty Cook-Morrissey was arrested Monday on allegations that she had violated terms of her pretrial release. Authorities say the violations included the use of drugs.

Cook-Morrissey was arrested Nov. 25 and charged with two counts of delivering methamphetamine, among other crimes. Authorities say she was selling drugs out of her home in West Union.

Morrissey is the mother of Lyric Cook, who disappeared with her cousin, Elizabeth Collins, in Evansdale in July 2012. Their bodies were found in December 2012.

Lyric Cook’s father, Daniel Morrissey, was sentenced in September to 30 to 90 years in prison on drug charges.
