STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - The Steamboat Springs City Council is considering buying into a new solar garden planned for Craig.

Elected officials in Steamboat and Routt County last month expressed interest in the Clean Energy Collective’s new solar array that is projected to provide 580 kilowatts of clean power capacity from nearly 2,000 solar panels.

Steamboat Springs council member Sonja Macys said buying into the Craig system could be an opportunity for the city to set an example for using more renewable energy.

Steamboat Today reports (https://tinyurl.com/lvz8hzb ) other city officials want to consider other options, including local projects that could use solar energy.
