TACOMA, Wash. (AP) - The fiance of a 34-year-old Tacoma woman killed when the taxi van she was riding in collided with a pickup truck says the woman was 12 weeks pregnant.

The Washington State Patrol says the pickup truck crossed the centerline early Tuesday on Highway 167 east of Tacoma and collided with the taxi as it tried to swerve.

The collision killed 34-year-old Shanna Huttenstine. Her fiance, Jason Speers, tells KING-TV they were in the cab headed home from a hospital. Speers says he suffered only a scratch.

KING reports the 52-year-old Seattle man driving the taxi was seriously injured and taken to a hospital.

The News Tribune says the State Patrol reports that the pickup driver, a 48-year-old Puyallup man, was not seriously hurt. He was booked into the Pierce County Jail for investigation of vehicular homicide and vehicular assault. Trooper Guy Gill said the man showed signs of impairment.
