PELZER, S.C. (AP) - Anderson County deputies say three people have been killed and a fourth person hurt in a shooting in Pelzer.

Sheriff’s Lt. Sheila Cole says officers were called to a home around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Other deputies started chasing a suspect in a pickup truck and he fired at them. Helicopter footage from WYFF-TV showed the driver steered the pickup through fields as animals and people scattered. He also drove on sidewalks before losing control of the truck on state Highway 86 in Piedmont. It went airborne and slammed into a house.

Cole says no one was injured in the chase and the suspect was taken into custody. No charges have been filed.

Cole says deputies don’t have a motive for the shooting. The names of the victims haven’t been released.
