CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. (AP) - The former deputy mayor of the city of Yonkers has pleaded guilty to videotaping himself having sex with a woman without her consent.

Andrew Maniglia, of Valhalla, faces three years probation under the plea agreement with Rockland County prosecutors.

He was also fined and must stay away from the woman.

He originally faced two counts of second-degree unlawful surveillance, a felony.

His lawyer tells the Journal News (https://lohud.us/1dqpOgs ) the unlawful surveillance law was adopted to prosecute stalkers and voyeurs, not people having consensual sex.

Sentencing was set for April 21 in Clarkstown Town Court.

Maniglia served as Yonkers deputy mayor in the 1990s.
