NEW YORK (AP) - A Manhattan resident has sued his landlord after the entire contents of his $1,700 apartment were mistakenly removed and dumped.

Nilay Shroff, a software maker, claims the landlord sent a cleaning crew to empty apartment 2B. But he says the crew mistakenly went to his apartment - 2D.

According to the Daily News (https://nydn.us/1lylwrP ), Shroff says he returned home from work on Oct. 9, 2013 to find nearly all the contents of his $1,700 apartment had been cleaned out.

The suit seeks an unspecified amount of money from building owner Goldie Holding Co. and management Mautner-Glick Corp.

The News says attempts to reach them were unsuccessful.

Apart from furniture and clothing, Shroff says he lost irreplaceable personal items.
