ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) -

Albuquerque police say a woman sought on warrants for various crimes allegedly rammed a police car and then fled before officers were able to take her into custody.

Police say the marked police car was rammed in the parking of a fast-food restaurant after detectives spotted 26-year-old Ashley Marie Martinez Wednesday evening.

According to police, Martinez used her vehicle to ram the police car, drove off and then fled on foot into a residential area. Police say she gave up when told a police dog would be sent in after her.

Police say Martinez was sought for questioning in fraud cases involving elderly victims and also on warrants for burglary and other crimes.



She’s now also being held on suspicion of battery on a police officer.

No officer was injured.
