SEATTLE (AP) - A 52-year-old woman who claimed to have cancer and talked an elderly Auburn man into giving her more than $400,000 was sentenced Thursday in federal court in Seattle to two years in prison.

Julie Ann Dahlquist of Auburn pleaded guilty in November for defrauding the Social Security disability program by concealing her income and collected $8,000 in benefits.

The U.S. attorney’s office says the judge ordered Dahlquist to pay $417,000 restitution as part of the sentence. Her victim wrote her 190 checks in 2009-2012 for cancer treatments. She spent the money gambling.
