CADIZ, Ky. (AP) - A southwestern Kentucky police department is giving free drug testing kits to parents who suspect their children may be using illegal drugs.
Cadiz Police chief Chad Grace told WPSD-TV in Paducah (https://bit.ly/Nyjp9n ) that having parents test their children is preferable to guessing what the child is doing when it comes to drugs.
The department is getting the tests from the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force. The test kits come with full instructions on how to administer them and allows parents to test their children without worrying if there will be law enforcement follow-up, arrest or prosecution.
Grace notes that the test results may not be 100 percent accurate due to several factors such as time or the use of over-the-counter medication.
