TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A man has been convicted in the fatal shooting of a Tucson teenager during a drug deal in 2011.

Pima County prosecutors say a jury on Wednesday found 21-year-old Keanu Deano Castaneda guilty of first-degree murder, armed robbery and aggravated assault.

Castaneda was accused of killing 17-year-old Carlos Sandoval on Dec. 31, 2011.

Prosecutors say Castaneda planned to steal a pound of marijuana from the teen. Castaneda testified that the shooting was an accident.

Jurors found Castaneda committed the murder during the course of a felony but decided the act was not premeditated.

His sentencing is scheduled for May 12.
