KIEV, Ukraine (AP) - Ukraine’s domestic football league will resume play on March 15.

The season was scheduled to restart on Feb. 28 following a two-month winter break, but was postponed because of the turmoil that led to the toppling of ex-President Viktor Yanukovych.

Sport and Youth Minister Dmytro Bulatov says “inasmuch as the entire country awaits the conduct of matches in the soccer championship, the competition must resume as soon as possible.”

Two rounds of play will have been missed when the season restarts. The country’s football federation hasn’t set a date yet when they will be played.

Tavria Simferopol and FC Sevastopol, both located in Crimea, say they intend to continue competing in the Ukrainian league.
