SULLIVAN, Ind. (AP) - Southwestern Indiana residents saddened by a toddler’s death this week in a day care center fire are planning a fundraiser to help her family with funeral expenses.

Proceeds from the March 23 dinner and silent auction at the Sullivan County 4-H Grounds will go to the family of 17-month-old Emma Lloyd, whose funeral is scheduled for Saturday.

The toddler died of smoke inhalation in Tuesday’s fire at Waterman’s Wonderland Daycare in Sullivan about 80 miles southwest of Indianapolis. The fire’s cause remains under investigation.

Sullivan business owner Veronica Gray tells the Tribune-Star (https://bit.ly/O0YZ8U ) that residents have already donated about $1,800 toward funeral expenses for the child.

In addition to the benefit, an account benefiting Emma Lloyd’s family has also been set up at BMO Harris Bank.
