CLINTON, Conn. (AP) - An 18-year-old Connecticut man is facing a manslaughter charge in connection with the death of his 2-month old daughter.

Originally charged as a juvenile, the case against Reushawn Foster, of Clinton, was upgraded to adult court in an appearance Thursday in Middletown Superior Court. Foster was 17 at the time of the alleged offense.

Police say the baby was brought to the hospital in March 2013 after family members reported that she was not breathing. She died days later.

An autopsy determined the cause of death was blunt head trauma and that her injuries were consistent with shaken baby syndrome.

Police say Foster was caring for the child alone when the injuries were sustained.

Foster is in custody on $750,000 bail and it was unclear if he had a lawyer.
