LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - Police say a 46-year-old man was killed when he drove his car hit the rear of a westbound 18-wheeler on Interstate 10 in Lafayette.

Cpl. Paul Mouton says the victim, whose name is being withheld until his family is notified, was pronounced dead at the scene Thursday night.

Mouton says the driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.
