WASHINGTON (AP) - Metro Transit Police say they’ve charged a Maryland man in connection with a fight that happened aboard a green line train and left a second man in critical condition.

Police said in a statement late Saturday that they’ve charged 22-year-old Dionte Daniels of Glenarden, Md., with attempted second degree murder, assault and reckless endangerment.

Police say the fight happened around 9:30 p.m. Friday while the train was traveling between the Greenbelt and Fort Totten stations. Officers boarded the train at Fort Totten and found a 46-year-old man unconscious with life threatening injuries.

Daniels was taken into custody at L’Enfant Plaza station after a description and photo were broadcast to officers throughout the Metro system.

Daniels did not appear to have a listed telephone number.
