LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Moneeka Robinson scored 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds, and Kianna Ibis had nine points and 10 boards to lead Omaha Benson to a 47-43 come-from-behind victory over Bellevue West in the Class A final on Saturday night.
The Bunnies (26-2) made up a seven-point deficit to win their first state title in girls basketball.
Kanesha Plater’s two free throws gave Benson a 45-43 lead with 33 seconds left. Bellevue West had a couple chances to tie, but Ibis blocked a shot by Kate Liveringhouse with 15 seconds to play and Chloe Akin-Otiko missed a jumper with nine seconds left.
Liveringhouse finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds and Madison Braun had 11 points for Bellevue West (26-3), which was playing in the championship game for the fifth time in six years.
